Weekend Café/Cook Supervisor – Community Café
Location: West Calder Hub, Dickson Street, West Calder EH55 8DZ
Hours: Saturdays & Sundays, (9am–2pm)
Pay: £15-£16 depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about good food and community spirit? We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic cook to join our small team at our welcoming community café on weekends.
What you’ll do:

Prepare and cook a simple, affordable menu (breakfasts, light lunches, baked goods)

Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and running smoothly

Occasionally help with planning menus or specials

Work alongside front-of-house staff and volunteers in a friendly environment

Open and close venue
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience in cooking for groups (café, restaurant, or community setting)

Can work independently and take initiative

Understands food hygiene and kitchen safety

Enjoys working with people and being part of a local community
Food hygiene certification is a plus, but training can be provided if needed.
This role is ideal for someone looking for part-time weekend work with a community focus. Retirees, parents, students, or anyone looking to make a difference through food – we’d love to hear from you!
